Plant-Based Cleaning
When I chose to give up meat and dairy I unconsciously started living a plant-based lifestyle. I became more conscious about what I put in my body as well as what I put on or breathed into my body. The world is filled with so many man made chemicals already, so why bring more into your home? There are a ton of easy swaps you can make in your house to start using plant-based cleaning products.
Plant based cleaning products are made with naturally derived ingredients from – you guessed it- plants! There are tons of dish washing liquid, all-purpose cleaners, bleach, disinfecting wipes, disinfecting spray, laundry detergent and more. My personal favorite brand is Seventh Generation.
You can find anything from their brand that you could think of. In my apartment we buy their dish liquid, trash bags, disinfecting spray and wipes, all purpose cleaner, laundry detergent, bleach, and fabric softener. They all work as good as any “normal” – chemically laden cleaning products. The best part of using plant-based cleaning products in my opinion is your house isn’t filled with the smell of harsh chemicals. It smells like the exact essential oils they use in their products, my favorite scent is lavender and I’m so happy you can find majority of their products in that scent and know that its made from pure essential oils, instead of a lab where they created the scent.
